FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKE-UP ?
Permanent make-up also known in the industry as cosmetic tattooing is done using the process of micro-pigmentation. It is a process whereby top quality iron-oxide pigments are implanted into the dermal layer of the skin, which (after the second visit), should last for several years.
Permanent make-up will give you a more youthful overall appearance. Many clients have described the results as being similar to those of a facelift, especially with the eyebrow treatment which will give your eye area and face an instant lift, as the eyebrows frame your entire face.
The treatment is ideal for ski and sun holidays as it is waterproof ! It is also popular amongst women who have a busy schedule as it saves time applying make-up every morning ! During the consultation Tori will discuss the final result with you and what you would like to achieve through permanent make-up, some clients prefer a very natural finish where as some clients prefer a more glamourous Hollywood look. This is entirely the clients personal choice and will be discussed in length along with colour tones and face shape.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE A TREATMENT ?
You will need to allow 1 ½ hours for your first procedure. If you intend to have a “full face” (3 procedures together) then you should allow 2 hours in total.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST ?
Permanent make-up should last for several years. Over that time the colour will fade and break down. It is suggested that you come back to us for a “colour boost” procedure every 18 months / 2 years to keep the look complete and fresh. All Permanent make-up treatments are carried out over 2 appointments. The procedure is complete after the second appointment.
DOES IT HURT ?
Some clients feel no discomfort at all - others feel minimal discomfort. We use topical anaesthetics to minimise discomfort. Client’s say that having a procedure is similar to having their eyebrows plucked or their legs waxed. Once the procedure is complete there is no discomfort whatsoever.

SPMU is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eyelining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips, and eyelids. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost it as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia, chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo. It is also used to restore or enhance the breast's areola, such as after breast surgery.
Most commonly called permanent cosmetics, other names include dermapigmentation, micropigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing (the latter being most appropriate since permanent makeup is, in fact, tattooing.) In the United States and other countries, the inks used in permanent makeup and the pigments in these inks are subject to FDA or similar agency regulation as cosmetics and color additives.
